GARDENSTATEHOOPS DIARY: MATT GRASSI– RAMAPO Entry #1

Matt Grassi is a 6’2 Senior guard from Ramapo H.S. and here is his diary!

My senior season looks to be my best year and my teams best year. We return 7 seniors and will have depth up to almost 12 players. Our depth will be the key this year because of the way we pride ourselves on defense and hard work. If we go full speed and give it 100 percent all the time like Coach Joe Sandberg preaches, then we will need the deep bench. Although, recruitment has been slow for me, I have some interest from D2 and D3 schools and I am still undecided. I am trying to find the right fit for me athletically and academically. The seniors this year include forwards, J.P.Zacharia, Aiden Cole and Alex Gitkin while the guards are Mike Gostowski, Tommy Gordon and Peter Gormley. Ever since Coach Sandberg has taken over, Ramapo basketball has had a new look and has taken many steps to get back on top and this could be the year we accomplish our goals. Because of the tough off season schedule and rigorous workouts and training, we are ready to compete with any task we face in the upcoming season. Our final season could be a memory that will last a lifetime and everything is starting to fall in place for a special season. But it is now our turn to capitalize on the opportunity we have.
