GROUP 4 STATES: #2 KENNEDY DEFEATS #14 KEARNY 60-46!

Kennedy H.S.,Paterson,N.J….. In a game which had 53 personal fouls called, Kennedy held off a game Kearny team and pulled away for a 60-46 win! Junior Alphonso Gee led Kennedy with 17 points and 4 assists and Junior Jordan Rodriguez(picture) scored 14 points and made two big plays in the 4th quarter to hold off a Kearny run and settled Kennedy down the stretch! Kennedy led the entire game, but Kearny made it interesting by going on a 15-6 run to start the 4th quarter and cut a 42-28 deficit to 48-43 with 3:08 left! Kennedy finished the game on a 12-3 run as Rodriguez had two consecutive steals and layups to push the lead to 52-43 and give Kennedy the cushion it needed! Junior Georgie Smyth led Kearny with 16 points and Junior Joseph Baez added 13
