NON-PUBLIC “B” STATE FINALS: ROSELLE CATHOLIC OUTLASTS ST. ANTHONY 56-52!

Pine Belt Arena, Toms River,N.J……This was a heavyweight fight between two of the best teams in the State as Roselle Catholic and St. Anthony squared off for the Non-Public A State Championship! After a hard fought game Roselle Catholic ended up victorious 56-52! Kentucky commit Isaiah Briscoe(right) scored 12 of his 17 points in the 2nd half, Monmouth commit Pierre Saar(left) scored 13 points and Junior Matt Bullock had 11 and South Carolina commit Chris Silva added 12 points for Roselle Catholic! Junior Jagan Mosely led St. Anthony with 17 points, 15 coming in the 1st half , Junior Kaleb Bishop added 10 points and Wichita State commit Markis McDuffie and Sophomore R.J. Cole each chipped in 9 points! Each team had moments where they looked as if they could take control of the game, but each time the other team would come back with a play or spurt of it’s own! St. Anthony took a 51-49 lead on a “triple” from Cole! After Briscoe hit a freee throw and Bullock cashed in on two, Roselle Catholic led 52-51! Junior Taurean Thompson made 1 of 2 free throws to give St. Anthony it’s last point of the game as it was tied at 52 with 2:20 left! After two free throws by Silva and a free throw by Saar, R.C. had a 55-52 lead with 26.9 seconds on the clock St. Anthony had two great looks from the three line but they didn’t fall and after a free throw from Briscoe Roselle Catholic had won the Non-Public B for the third year in a row! Roselle Catholic will now participate in the Tournament Of Champions beginning Wednesday at the Pine Belt Arena in Toms River!
