JINGLES BELL JUBILEE: ST. JOE’S-METUCHEN AND GILL ST. BERNARD REACH “CHIP”!

016Paterson,N.J…… The second day of the Playaz Basketball sponsored Jingle Bells Jubilee had their Semi finals matchup as Paterson Eastside met St.Joe’s-Metuchen and Immaculate Conception went against Gill St. Bernard! When it was finished, St. Joe’s and Gill St. Bernard will meet Tuesday in the Jingle Bells Jubilee “Chip”!                                                                    GILL ST. BERNARD  81     IMMACULATE CONCEPTION  67   When Gill St. Bernard is running it’s offense  right, they are a hard team to beat and for the most part they executed their sets to perfe020ction as they defeated Immaculate Conception 81-67! Gill had 4 players score in double figures led by Freshman Jake Betlow(right) with 20 points! Sophomore Dallas Hoffman(left) added 17 points, Senior Alex Mitola finished with 14 and Sophomore Alex Schachne chipped in 10! Gill went ahead early, taking a 24-12 1st quarter lead! Immaculate Conception made a strong run late in the 2nd as they cut the lead to 41-33 behind Sophomore Jalen Carey’s 18 1st half points! Gill St. Bernard locked the game in the 3rd as Schachne scored 8 of his points in the stanza and Hoffman added 6 as they outscored I.C. 26-16 to take a commanding lead! Freshman Paul Mulcahy had a solid floor game for Gill as he scored 6 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, dished out 6 assists and added 2 steals! Carey led Immaculate with 24 points and Junior Dehron Mitchell Jr. added 21 points, including 5″triples” and 7 rebounds!

Syracuse commit Tyus Battle scored 15 points and grabbed 9 rebounds, Senior Branislav Vujadinovic(right)  scored 13 points, “Ol013e” Miss commit Breein Tyree added 12 points and Sophomore Alanzo Frink chipped in 10 points with 9 rebounds as St. Joe’s-Metuchen gradually pulled away from a tough Paterson Eastside team to win 52-34!  Eastside led at the end of the 1st 14-11, but St.Joe’s behind 13 2nd half points from Battle took a 28-23 lead into the half! Vujadinovic scored 11 of his 13 points in the second half to help the Falcons pull away! Eastside was led by Junior Nhaz Smith and Senior Charles Powell with 14 points apiece!

 

 

 

 

                                                                             ST. JOE’S- MONTVALE  56       PLAINFIELD  25012

 

In a surprisingly easy game St. Joe’s-Montvale scored all 56 of their points in three quarters as they defeated Plainfield 56-25! It was clear the bench time in the fourth for St.Joe’s as Senior Bryan Griffin scored 16 points and pulled down 8 rebounds and Senior Nate Garvey and Junior Chauncey Hawkins each scored 11 points to lead the way! Plainfield was led by Sophomore Jay’son Jackson with 12 points!

The game was much closer than the final score, as it took 6 late points from Senior M.J. Richardson to seal the contest! Richardson finished the game with 25 points and 4 assists! Columbia was led by Senior Davidson Racine with 14 points and 7 boards and Junior Matthew Derilus with 13 points! Although it wasn’t pretty on the offensive end Hackensack forced Columbia into 20 turnovers and out rebounded them 30-19 led By Senior Edward Emedoh’s 9 and Sophomore B.J. Saliba’s 7!
