PLAYAZ FREEDOM FIGHTERS RESUTS: KENNEDY, TEANECK, ROSELLE CATHOLIC AND NEWARK EASTSIDE WIN!

Eastside HS, Paterson, N.J….. In the Playaz sponsored Freedom Fighters event Kennedy, Teaneck, Roselle Catholic and Newark Eastside all came away winners!

                                                                              KENNEDY  62       NEWARK TECH 

Senior Alphonso Gee scored 23 points and Sophomore Jaylen Colon came off the bench to score 21 points as Kennedy snuck by Newark Tech 62-60! Kennedy led for most of the game as they took a 47-43 lead into the 4th quarter! Tech went on a 6-0 run to go ahead 49-47 on a “triple” by Junior Javon Brown! Colon’s back to back “triples” proved to be the key buckets of the game and Gee went 6-7 down the stretch from the free throw line! Gee also contributed 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals! Senior Mustafa Lawrence led Newark Tech with 22 points before fouling out and Brown added 10! Gee(left) and Lawrence(right) were voted players of the game!

 

 

                                                                      TEANECK  66     PASSAIC COUNTY TECH  51

Junior Jawaun Daniels scored 21 points and grabbed 14 rebounds and Sophomore Ja’Quaye James added 17 points to lead Teaneck to a 66-51 win over Passaic County Tech! Junior Adrian Baucom added 12 points, 4 assists and 4 steals for Teaneck! Tech cut the lead down a few times behind the play of Senior Eric Johnson-Alford and Junior Derrick Cuavers, but they again pulled away at the end as 6’10 Junior Pierre Sow made two clutch putbacks! Johnson-Alford finished with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals! Cuavers added 11 points for Tech! Daniels(right) and Johnson-Alford(left) were voted players of the game!

 

 

                               ROSELLE CATHOLIC  85     IMMACULATE CONCEPTION  52

Junior Nate Pierre-Louis scored 22 points,  Junior Leondre Washington added 15 points and Junior Andre Rafus chipped in 13 points as Roselle Catholic blewout Immaculate Conception 85-52! Roselle Catholic outscored Immaculate 31-9 in the 3rd quarter to take an overwhelming 69-35 lead! Freshman Cartier Bowman scored 16 points to lead Immaculate and Sophomore Jalen Carey added 14 points! Pierre-Louis(right) and Bowman(left) were voted players of the game!

 

 

                              NEWARK EASTSIDE  63    PATERSON EASTSIDE  40

Freshman Naz Amos scored 16 points and Sophomore’s Hassan Ceesay and Shamir Johnson each chipped in 14 points to lead Newark Eastside to a 63-40 win over Paterson Eastside! Newark Eastside took a 29-13 halftime lead and never were threatened! Junior Nhazir Smith lead Paterson Eastside with 9 points, Sophomore Ta’wan Grier added 8 and Senior Terra Gatling grabbed 16 rebounds to go with his 6 points! Amos(right) and Gatling(left) were voted players of the game!
