UNION COUNTY TITLE: THE PATRICK SCHOOL OUTLASTS ROSELLE CATHOLIC 58-54 IN DOUBLE O.T.!

025University, Union,N.J…. In a Highschool basketball season that has been pretty even keel, The Patrick School and Roselle Catholic took the season up a notch by playing a game that will be remembered for years as The Patrick School defeated Roselle Catholic 58-54 in Double Overtime!

The Patrick School had to overcome the overtime performance of Roselle Catholic’s Matt Bu026llock who scored 11 of his 19 points in the extra sessions! Junior Jordan Walker(right) was clutch in overtime for Pat’s! The game was low scoring ,  but intense as each team was committed on the defensive end of the floor! The Patrick School was up two, 36-34 when they missed a free throw to give Roselle Catholic a chance to tie on a corner jumper from Bullock to send it to the first overtime! Bullock started the first OT with a jumper, but Walker made a top of the key “triple” and Junior Jamir Harris “triple” made it 42-38 Patrick School! Bullock then made a “triple” to cut the lead to 42-41! Harris again made a “triple” to give Patrick’s a 45-41 lead! But, Roselle Catholic was not done as Senior Gilberto Cue made two free throws to cut the lead to 45-43 and after two free throws from Walker, Junior Leondre Washington made two free throws and Bullock found Sophomore Nazereon Reid for a layup to tie the score at 47! Walker again made two free throws030, but a monster driving dunk by Bullock sent the game to a second overtime at 49! The second OT stanza started on a jumper and two free throws from Walker to give Pat’s a 53-49 lead! Bullock then made 3 of 4 free throws to cut the lead to 53-52! Junior Marcus McClary made two free throws for Pat’s but a Bullock layup made it 55-541 After Harvard commit Bryce Aiken made a free throw Junior Nick Richards made a controversial block to seal the win as Aiken finished the scoring with two free throws! With that you got a Classic! Walker led the Patrick School with 14 points, while Harris(bottom right) finished with 13 points! Rhode Island commit Cyril Langevine and Richards combined for 13 points 119 rebounds and 7 blocked shots! Bullock had 11 rebounds to go with his point total and Reid added 14 points and 8 rebounds! These two will most likely meet again in the Non-Public South B Semifinals!
