NON-PUBLIC B “CHIP”: ST.ANTHONY BACK ON TOP 53-37 OVER ROSELLE CATHOLIC!

015Toms River, N.J…..After losing three straight times, St.Anthony finally put themselves back on top as they defeated Roselle Catholic 53-37 and take back the Non-Publc B State Championship! 016

Georgetown commit Jagan Mosely(right) led St.Ant’s with 16 points and Senior Javorious Hayes(mid right) added 13 points and 7 rebounds as St.Anthony’s took a 9-6 lead in a slow 1st quarter and held on throughout! Senior Idris Joyner led the Friars early as he scored an early 6 points to give them the lead! Ant’s took a 29-17 lead into the half as Joyner had 8, Mosely and Hayes 7 points and Junior R.J. Cole 5! Sophomore Nazereon Reid lead R.C. with 8 at 017the half! Roselle Catholic pressed in the second half and at one point cut the lead to as low as 4, but St.Anthony always found an answer, whether it was Mosely hitting two big”triples” or Senior Asante Gist knocking down a”triple” of his own! The win gave this Senior class it’s first State championship as every class Coach Bob Hurley has coached has a “chip” to it’s name! Senior Matt Bullock led roselle Catholic with 10 points and 7 rebounds, while Reid pulled down 14 rebounds to go with his 8018 points! Junior Leondre Washington finished with 9 points! Cole(bottom right) had 7 points to go with 6 rebounds and 6 assists!
