GARDENSTATEHOOPS ALL-BERGEN TEAM:
PLAYERS OF THE YEAR: JAWAUN DANIELS AND JA’QUAYE JAMES–JR,SOPH–TEANECK: Usually in the case of Player Of The Year their is one player who has played above everyone else, but this season was a case of different circumstances! When it comes to a team reliant on the play of two players, no one needed it as much as Teaneck did with cousins Jawaun Daniels and Ja’Quaye James! Daniels(left) was the new kid on the block who transferred in and with the lost of Leondre Washington to transfer, he was needed immediately to contribute big! That’s where James, who is already a career 1,000 point scorer, came in! As the go to player for this year, he needed to incorporate Daniels into the offense quickly and at the same time make the transititon smooth! James more than did that as the 5’8 point guard did his thing averaging 18.5,dishing out 7 assists with 2 steals and acclimating Daniels to a tune of 18 points and 10 rebounds a game! The result was a Group 3 State Championship and a trip to the T.O.C. in which they lost in the semifinals to eventual champs St.Anthony! Their play earned them the Gardenstatehoops Co-Players Of The Year!
