ST.ANTHONY HOLDS OFF BERGEN CATHOLIC IN O.T. 61-58!

004Oradell,N.J….. For 31 of 32 minutes, it looked like Bergen Catholic would pull off one of the biggest wins in school history by defeating St.Anthony, but at the end of the day the Friars again showed their resiliency and grit to pull off a 61-58 overtime win!

 Howard University commit R.J. Cole scored 23 points with 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Junior Ithiel Horton sent the game into overtime in the final minute on a driving lay to lead St.Anthony to the comeback win! Junior Nigel Marshall scored 13 points and grabbed 9 rebounds and put an exclamation point on the game in overtime with a thunderous dunk and Junior Ogheneyole Akuwovo scored 8 points and was big on the boards with 14, including 9 offensive! St. Anthony trailed by as much as 7 in the 3rd quarter 39-32 but came back and went ahead on a Cole free throw 45-44 in the 4th quarter! Bergen Catholic looked prime to pull off the win as trailing by one, Senior Thomas Binelli hit a clutch “triple” to give BC a 54-52 win before Horton’s bucket! Bergen Catholic had a chance to win it in regulation but missed a shot in the lane at the buzzer! Senior Gabe Stefanini led Bergen in scoring with 15 points with 6 assists and Binelli added 11 points! St.Anthony dominated the glass by out rebounding Bergen Catholic 33-18!
