NAZ REID ALLEY-OOP WINS NON -PUBLIC B CHAMPIONSHIP OVER THE RANNEY SCHOOL 63-61!

Toms River, N.J…In the best game of the Highschool Season Roselle Catholic defeated The Ranney School 63-61 to win the Non-Public B State Championship!

McDonald’s All-American Naz Reid(being interviewed) caught an alley-oop pass from Senior Ithiel Horton with 6 seconds left to give R.C. the lead and they hung on as a couple of Ranney shots fell off the rim and Roselle Catholic escaped with the win! The high level contest featured numerous Division 1 players who all played their hearts out in the intense game! Ranney had a 7 point lead 58-51 on a jumper by Junior Ahmad Sarnor with 2:53 left! Three straight buckets by Reid cut the lead to 58-57! Sarnor’s two free throws made the score 60-57! Another bucket by Reid made the score 60-59 and after Senior Saviour Akuwovo went 1 for 2 from the line, Junior Kahlil Whitney made two free throws for Roselle Catholic to make the score 61 all! Reid then blocked the next possession for R.C. and completed the play with his now famous Alley-oop which will go down as one of the greatest plays in the school’s history! Reid finished with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks, while Senior Alanzo Frink chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds and Whitney added 12 points and 9 rebounds for R.C.! Ranney was led by Sarnor with 16 points Junior Bryan Antoine with 13 points and 5 rebounds and Junior Scottie Lewis with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists!
