BERGEN COUNTY JAMBOREE: MAHWAH, BERGEN TECH AND BOGOTA ADVANCE!

Bergen Catholic H.S. Oradell, N.J…. Gardenstatehoops was at Bergen Catholic for three Bergen county Jamboree contests and saw Mahwah, Bergen Tech and Bogota advance to the Round of 16!

                                                                                    (12) Mahwah  54     (21) Emerson  45

Sophomore Nicky Peltekian(far right) scored 21 points and Senior Cormac Henriques(right)(right) added 13 points and 10 rebounds to lead Mahwah to a 54-45 win over Emerson! The game was close, but Mahwah maintained a small lead throughout! Emerson made a late run, but the Thunderbirds made free throws late to maintain their lead! Emerson was led by Senior John Dime with 19 points and 8 rebounds and Sophomore Jimmy Csapo added 13 points and 8 boards!  Mahwah will now face #5 Teaneck!

 

 

                                                                                 (15) Bergen Tech  59    (18) Hasbrouck Heights  46

 Bergen Tech was led by their Senior trio in defeating Hasbrouck Heights 59-46! Senior Brian Ibeabuchi(right) led the way for Bergen Tech with 20 points and 6 rebounds! Senior Howell Nunez(far right) added 14 points and and Senior Marc Martinez(center) chipped in 12 points! Bergen Tech held the lead all the way through the contest! Heights was led by Sophomore Kunga Tsering with 20 points and 7 rebounds and Senior Anthony Palmer with 15 points and 6 rebounds! Bergen Tech will now face #2 Bergen Catholic!

 

 

 

 

                                                                      (16) Bogota  73       (17) Wood Ridge  37 

In a blowout contest Bogota jumped on Wood Ridge early and never looked back as they defeated them 73-37! Bogota took a 17-6 lead in the 1st quarter as Senior Ben Lukabu(center) scored 8 of his game high 19 points as he also finished with 11 rebounds and 2 blocked shots! They extended the lead to 40-15 at the half which pretty much sealed the deal! Sophomore Ashanti Cavines(far right)s finished with 14 points and 8 rebounds, Senior Kenjee Polanco(right) scored 14 points with  5 assists and 3 steals and Senior Argenis Soriano added 13 points 5 assists and 3 steals! Wood Ridge was led by Senior Ryan Connelly with 14 points and Sophomore Moshe Wilson with 11 points and 7 rebounds! Bogota will now face #1 Don Bosco Prep!
