PASSAIC COUNTY TOURNAMENT FINAL: KENNEDY WINS “CHIP”!

006Wayne Valley, N.J….Kennedy defeated Clifton 48-45 to win the Passaic County Tournament Championship!

001Kennedy trailed at the half 25-21 as Junior Ian Felix scored 8 points for Clifton, but the game turned in the 2nd half as Kennedy’s bench proved to be the difference! Senior’s Jahmir Tyrell and Djourn Cook and Sophomore Ja’Waun Abrams and Freshman Jayquan Briggs came off the bench to help give Kennedy the shift in momentum that they needed! They especially turned it up on the defensive end as Abrams(pictured) had 5 2nd half steals to lead the way! A block during their stretch by Senior A’vante Gilbert and a late steal and bucket by Tyrell iced the game! Gilbert led the scoring with 10 points,13 rebounds and 11 blocked shots while Tyrell had 10 and Junior Jalen Hargrove added 8! Felix led Clifton with 16 and Lazor Javonovich added 9!
