RANNEY SCHOOL T.O.C. CHAMPS!

011Rutgers University, N.J….. The final game of the New Jersey Highschool Season took place today as Bergen Catholic and Ranney School played in the T.O.C. Championship game! At the end, Ranney was crowned the T.O.C. Champions!

In a great game Ranney held on to defeat Bergen Catholic 67-63 as Florida commit Scottie Lewis led the way! Lewis(far right) scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Villanova comm004it Bryan Antoine(right) added 17 p003oints and 4 assists! Bergen led at the half 30-21 as Xavier commit Zach Freemantle and St.Peters University commit Doug Edert were the catalyst! Ranney came all the way back to take a 9 point lead in the 4th as Lewis bucket gave them a 57-48 lead! Bergen then came back as with 2:28 left in the game Freemantle made a bucket to make it 62-61! After a free throw from Lewis,Bergen tied the score at 63 on a layup from Freshman Will Richardson! Senior Ahmadu Sarnor free throws clinched the game for Ranney as he made a freethrow then hit two more as Sophomore Philip Wheeler grabbed an offensive rebound and fed Sarnor! Wheeler finished with 14 points and 6 rebounds and Sarnor added 13 points and pulled down 6 rebounds! Freemantle led Bergen Catholic with 19 points and 8 rebounds, while Edert added 13 points and 4 assists and Richardson finished with 9 points and 3 assists!

 

Note: With the Season finally concluded two things must be acknowledged! Villanova commit Bryan Antoine and Florida commit Scottie Lewis have been, over a four year period two of the most exciting players in the history of New Jersey Basketball! They have been as dynamic 001a duo as the State has seen and their has been plenty! Congratulations to these two extraordinary players and along with Ahmadu Sarnor and Alex Klatsky the best in the future! The second thing that has to be acknowledged is the fantastic season of Bergen Catholic’s008 Seniors Zach Freemantle, Doug Edert, Jayson Earle, Justin Regis, Jason Larranaga and Sean Regis! Freema005ntle(far right), Edert(center) and Earle(right) in particular, had phenomenal seasons and were leaders that took Bergen Catholic to heights never before seen by this school!  Gardenstatehoops would like to acknowledge these Bergen Catholic seniors on their extraordinary Season and Careers!
