ESSEX COUNTY TOURNAMENT: MONTCLAIR IMMACULATE AND SETON HALL PREP TO MEET IN FINAL!

West Orange, N.J…….The Essex County Tournament took place tonight with it’s Semifinals! In two great games, Montclair Immaculate and Seton Hall Prep came away with wins and a trip to the Finals!

Hofstra commit Zion Bethea scored 20 with 8 rebounds and 5 steals and Junior Amar’e Marshall added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 2 steals as Immaculate Conception held on for a 55-52 win over East Orange in a hard fought game which went back and forth throughout! In a game where no lead was bigger than 6 and East Orange trying to win the game trailing 53-52, a blocked shot by Senior Zayon Marsh and two free throws by Junior Jayden Brown gave Immaculate the final score! Brown went 7-8 from the free throw line down the stretch! Senior Izaiah Poole led East Orange with 18 points and Junior Jalen Hammonds added 12 points!

 

 

 

                                                 SETON HALL PREP   62        IRVINGTON  60

Senior Mike Curran scored 14 points and Junior Giye Jenkins added 13 points as four players scored in double figures to lead Seton Hall Prep to a win over Irvington in another hotly contested game! Senior Zander Zebrowski and Senior Mario Bollo each chipped in 10 points! Jenkins scored 7 of his points in the deciding 4th quarter as his last bucket gave Prep a 62-60 lead! Irvington last play had a chance to work but a mishandle of the ball on a pass didn’t give Irvington a chance to get up a tying shot! Senior Moses Pierre led Irvington with 16 points, while Senior Kymani Dunbar and Senior Karriem Thomas each finished with 15 points!
