PASSAIC COUNTY SEMIFINALS: EASTSIDE AND KENNEDY TO MEET IN PASSAIC COUNTY “CHIP”!

Paterson, N.J….. In two exciting, entertaining games it will be one of the oldest rivalries going at it again asDSC00965 Paterson Eastside and Paterson Kennedy will again lace them up in a Passaic County final!

In an amazing finish, Senior Joshua Cash banked a shot two feet inside the halfcourt line to defeat Paterson Charter 59-56! Junior Levi Holton led the Ghost with 21 points and 7 rebounds, Cash finished with 10 points, Senior Daizon Pauldo added 9 and Sophomore O’Shamier Majette chipped in 8 points and 8 rebounds! Eastside was trailing at the end of the 3rd quarter 43-36, but fought back to take the lead 51-49 on back to back layups from Pauldo! Charter shot themselves in the foot from the free throw line as they only converted 8 of 18 free throws! To their credit Charter did fight back as they had a chance to win, but only converted one of two free throws which set the stage for Cash heroics! Senior Caleb Ruffin led Charter with 15 points, Junior Michael Ferguson added 12 points and Senior Sidiki Miller chipped in 11!

Senior Deishon Harrison scored 22 points and Senior Mark Heber added 15 points to lead Kennedy to a 63-52 win over Passaic! Kennedy took control on a big 3rd quarter as they outscored Passaic 21-7 to take a 52-35 lead into the 4th! Passaic kept it close early behind the play of Senior Kendell Malloy as they were only down 31-28 at the half! Kennedy also got great efforts from Senior Jalen Hargrove who scored 9 points and pulled down 12 rebounds and Senior Jahmahli Carnegie who also scored 9 points and added 9 rebounds and 4 steals! Malloy led Passaic with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Senior Antrell Monroe added 12 points and Cam’ron Sylvester chipped in 11 points and 5 assists!
