UNION COUNTY SEMIFINALS: ROSELLE CATHOLIC AND PATRICK SCHOOL TO MEET IN “CHIP”!

Kean University Union, N.J….. The Union County Tournament took place tonight and saw Roselle Catholic and The Patrick School advance to the “Chip”!

ROSELLE CATHOLIC 52 ELIZABETH 46

In a tough game Roselle Catholic, the #3 ranked team in the State defeated Elizabeth 52-46! Senior and Florida commit Niels Lane led Roselle Catholic with 15 points and Sophomore Corey Floyd Jr. added 12 points in the win! Senior Cliff Omoyuri chipped in 10 points with 5 rebounds and 4 blocked shots and Freshman Simeon Wilcher finished with 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and his dunk with 56 seconds in the game proved to be the back breaker play! Sophomore Jayden Pierre’s inspired play kept Elizabeth close as he finished the contest with 20 points and 5 assists! Senior Jordan Price added 15 points!

                                            THE PATRICK SCHOOL 59 LINDEN 36

The Patrick School, the #2 ranked team in the State methodically defeated Linden as their pressure defense was too much for Linden to overcome! Patrick School had 12 players score in the contest led by Adamo Sanogo with 12 points and 7 rebounds and Junior Chris Jiao with 11 points! It was Patrick School’s defense that proved to be the biggest factor as it held Linden to 13 1st half points and took a 43-19 lead at the end of the 3rd quarter! Consensus #1 Junior in the Country Jonathan Kuminga, Senior Noah Farrakhan, Senior Kurt Parsons, Senior Zarique Nutter all keyed the defensive effort!

HUDSON COUNTY SEMIFINALS: ST.PETERS PREP AND MARIST TO MEET IN “CHIP”!

High Tech, Secaucus, N.J…… The Hudson County Tournament Semifinals took place tonight with big wins from St. Peters Prep and Marist!

ST. PETERS PREP 58 NORTH BERGEN 46

Junior Ray Ford(#4) scored 19 points with 7 rebounds and 3 steals and Senior Will White(#1) added 18 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals to lead St. Peters Prep to a 58-46 win over North Bergen! Sophomore Mark Armstrong chipped in 12 points with 5 steals and a very impressive dunk off the bounce to finish off North Bergen! North Bergen stayed in the game and fought to the end, but foul trouble on their two best players Junior DeAvion Ellis and Senior Francisco Paulino hurt them in the contest! Sophomore Eli Camacho led North Bergen with 10 points, while Ellis and Paulino had identical numbers with 9 points and 8 rebounds!

MARIST 55 HUDSON CATHOLIC 35

Junior Keith Mency(#5) went on a personal 8-0 run that put Marist ahead in the 2nd quarter and they never looked back in a 55-35 win over Hudson Catholic! With the score tied at 8 to end the 1st quarter, Mency converted on 8 straight points to push the lead to 16-8 and Marist slowly pulled away throughout! Mency finished with 13 points to lead Marist, while Sophomore Aiden Silas(#1) added 10! Junior Justin Glover and Senior Bryan Joseph each scored 6 for Hudson!


NJIC SMALL SCHOOL TOURNAMENT: PATERSON CHARTER AND SADDLE RIVER DAY ADVANCE!

Secaucus, N.J….The N.J.I.C. Small School Tournament took place at Secaucus Highschool! Paterson Charter and Saddle River Day advance to the Finals!

PATERSON CHARTER 60 GARFIELD 53

Senior Troy Medlock scored 16 points and Senior Marquis Harris added 13 points and was tough on the defensive end to lead Paterson Charter to a 60-53 win! With Charter up two 34-32 Junior Jamir Bellfield came off the bench to give Charter stability as he scored 7 big points in the 3rd quarter to give PC a 44-34 lead over Garfield! Harris pulled off numerous offensive fouls against Garfield which helped stem Boilermaker runs! Senior Sadiki Miller and Senior Zahire Robinson each chipped in 9 points! Senior Elias Chery led Garfield with 19 points and Senior Nakie Graham added 15 points!

SADDLE RIVER 77 DWIGHT-ENGLEWOOD 64

Junior Sebastian Gianotti(#13) scored 23 points and Junior Sean O’Neill(#15) added 18 points to lead Saddle River Day to a 77-64 lead over Dwight-Englewood! D.E. led at the half 36-31, but Saddle River Day outscored them 24-9 in the 3rd quarter! SDR had to overcome the scoring of Sophomore David Mager who finished with 26 points! Senior Connor Cyran added 11 points and grabbed 8 rebounds and Freshman Richard Machado added 9 points and 8 assists for Saddle River Day! Sophomore Jayden Lemond scored 11 points with 8 assists and 8 rebounds for Dwight-Englewood! Saddle River Day will meet Paterson Charter Thursday at Secaucus H.S.
