Sun National Bank Center, Trenton, N.J…..The culmination of the 2012-13 Highschool season cames to an end as Roselle Catholic proved to be the best of the best by beating St. Joseph Metuchen 65-49 to win the T.O.C. Championship! In a game with high leveled players all over the floor, Syracuse commit Tyler Roberson(botom left) and Sophomore sensation Malachi Richardson(bottom right) were the best players on the floor this particular night! Roberson010 scored 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and Richardson scored 22 points, including going 5 for 5 from the three line with every one of those”triples”being crucial! The game was close in the 1st quarter as they finished the stanza tied at 10! Roselle Catholic took control in the 2nd quarter as Richardson finished the half with 14 points and the Lions took a 26-16 lead at the half! St. Joe’s woke up in the 3rd as they cut the lead to one 28-27 on a three point 012play by Junior Marques Townes and again on a bucket by Kentucky commit Karl Towns that cut the lead to 30-29 and an opportunity to take control as Roselle Catholic’s Senior point guard Hakim Santil picked up his 4th foul!! But two huge “triples” in the last minute of the quarter by Richardson gave Roselle Catholic a 42-35 lead and they regained the momentum! The 4th belonged to Roberson as he scored 13 of his 19 points including a couple tough moves to the rim! Santil finished the game with 8 points and 5 assists and Freshman Asante Gist scored 6 points and dished out 4 assists! Townes led Joe’s with 17 points, while Junior Wade Baldwin scored 13 points! Towns was held to 7 points and 5 rebounds as Roselle Catholic made a conscious effort to keep people around him!

Two of the top players in the State will go head to head for the right for their team to be crowned New Jersey’s top team in Trent012on! Syracuse bound Senior Tyler Roberson(bottom) and Kentucky commit Junior Karl Towns(right) will face off Tuesday for Roselle Catholic and St. Joe’s Metuchen respectively
in a game that should provide plenty of excitement with a bunch of talented players in the contest! St. Joe’s Junior Wade Baldwin is considered one of the best in the State in his class, while Roselle Catholic 6’5 Sophom010ore Malachi Richardson has some of the top college teams in the country recruiting him! St. Joe’s 6’3 Junior Marques Townes is also a highly recruited player with Division 1 schools all over him and Roselle Catholic Senior guard Hakim Santil is as good as they get in the State! Freshman guard Asante Gist is a top underclassman for Roselle Catholic while  St. Joe’s other two starters 6’0 Senior Jimbo Long and 6’8 Senior James Zienga are steady players throughout their careers!  Roselle Catholic’s 6’9 Chris Silva has a tremendous amount of upside and will most likely defend Towns! This game will go to the wire but in the end it looks like Roselle Catholic late!
