Written by Cameron on . Posted in Garden State Hoops

Teaneck 6’3  Senior wing Joel Hernandez is one of the most explosive players in the area! The Division 1 prospect005-Optimized will shoulder most of the load for the Highwaymen this season!Hernandez has a very good mid range jump shot and when he gets to the rim,can finish with authority! Will be looked upon to rebound even more than in the past due to their lack of size! His lists of schools will continue to grow as the season goes on! A bonafide Area Player Of The Year candidate!

Written by Cameron on . Posted in Garden State Hoops

001Wayne, N.J…….Don Bosco Prep had four players in double figures as they beat Passaic County Tech 60-51! Junior forward 003Tom Sweeny(right) lead Prep with 15 points and 13 rebounds, Junior guard Paul Jorgensen(left) finished with 14 points and 5 assists, Sophomore Justin Salem scored 12 points, including 3″triples” and Senior Jack Ely added 11! DBP took a early 12-2 lead to start the game and established their halfcourt offense, getting open looks and open cutters! Tech was game and made runs, at one point cutting the lead to 6 behind the play of Senior guard Isaac Williams, Junior forward Brevon Brevard and the offensive rebounding of Senior forward Kori Haggie but Prep always managed to stem the tide! Sweeny’s putback off a missed layup and Jorgensen’s short jumper sealed the deal late in the 4th for Prep!  Tech was led by Williams with 15 points and Brevard with 12! It was Tech’s first lost of  the season and for Prep they seemed to have overcome the buzzer beating lost to Linden by winning two tough games this week against DePaul and P.C.T.!
