Oradell, N.J………..Just like on the football field, Don Bosco Prep and Bergen Catholic have a real rivalry on the bassketball court! And even though it was a game of missed shots, particularly at the foul line the intensity was high and the effort was there in Don Bosco Prep’s 67-54 win over Bergen! Prep could never shake the Crusaders as the game was close throughout! B.C. actually took the lead with 1:29 in the 3rd on a layup by Sophomore Nadi Beciri which put them ahead 45-44 but with 6.9 seconds left in the quarter Sophomore Paul Jorgenson(7pts,4asts pictured) made a three point play to give Prep the lead back 47-45 then Jack Ely stole the in bounds pass to score again before the buzzer to make it a 49-45 game! They slowly pulled away late! Senior Leonte Caroo, the Rutgers football recruit led Prep with a double-double in the game with 13 points and 10 rebounds while Senior Jemal Mosley led the scoring with 14 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and 3 steals!       Ridgewood, N.J……..The formula for Passaic County Tech seems to be simple! Get 6’6 Senior Shackquiel Scott touches on the offensive end and have their guards harrass the opposing backcourt led by Senior guard Aazaad Hinton who is always assigned the toughest player! It worked against a tough Ridgewood team as the Bulldogs turned a close game at the half into a comfortable win 69-55! Scott(pictured right)was the offensive leader with 20 points and 9 rebounds, but he got plenty of help as Hinson(pictured left) scored 10 points and 6 steals as he locked down Ridgewood guards,Senior Kori Haggi added 9 points and 7 rebounds, Senior Jarred Sykes(6rebs), Junior Isaac Williams(5asts) and Junior Wahlik Watson (8 asts) all scored 8 points! Tech led 32-28 at intermission, but pushed the lead to as much as 18 points in the second half! The Maroons were led by Stefan Senguin and Evan Bartlik with 15 points apiece!
