BERGEN CATHOLIC WINS NON PUBLIC A “CHIP”!

Toms River, N.J…St.Peters commit Doug Edert hit a couple of long range “triples” early to give Camden Catholic a dose of what was to come as Bergen Catholic went on to a 78-61  win and a Non Public A title!

Edert(far right) was the game’s high scorer with 19 points as 4 BC players scored in double figures! Junior Matt Zona(right) scored 17 points, Xavier commit Zach Freemantle had 16 points and 7 rebounds and Senior Jayson Earle finished with 12 points and 6 assists! Camden Catholic trailed early as Bergen took a quick 8-1 lead! Camden Catholic inserted Senior Valen Tejada off the bench and his play helped them get back into the contest! Bergen Freshman Will Richardson’s “triple” to end the quarter gave them a 23-8 lead! Bergen Catholic kept a double figure lead throughout on it’s way to it’s 4th title in the school’s history! Camden Catholic was led by Senior Babatunde Ajike with 17 points and 11 rebounds, Tejada finished with 16 points and Senior Uche Okafor added 12 points and 12 rebounds!
