BERGEN COUNTY JAMBOREE: HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, RIDGEFIELD PARK AND GARFIELD WIN!
Oradell, N.J….. The 64th Annual Bergen County Jamboree took place today at Bergen Catholic as three of the first round games were played here! Hasbrouck Heights, Ridgefield Park and Garfield all advanced to next week!
HASBROUCK HEIGHTS 51 BOGOTA 49
Junior Kunga Tsering’s put back at the buzzer gave Hasbrouck Heights a 51-49 overtime win over Bogota! It was Hasbrouck Heights first County win in it’s school’s history! Tsering(far right) scored on a controversial play as he picked up aloose ball rebound after contact, but made the floater as the clock winded down! Height’s lost a 10 poiont lead in the 4th as Bogota ended up tying the game at 47 on a “triple” from Sophomore Evan Meberg! Junior Steven Fausette(near) led the way for Heights with 16 points, while Junior Jaden Castro scored all 13 of his points in the first half! Tsering finished with 8 points and 14 rebounds! Meberg led Bogota with 20 points, while Junior Ashanti Caviness added 12 points and 17 rebounds and Junior Taj Collins chipped in with 11!
RIDGEFIELD PARK 65 BECTON 58
Ridgefield Park overcame an early deficit to defeat Becton 65-58! Junior Jenci Reyes(pictured) led Ridgefield Park with 17 points and 9 rebounds, while Junior Ralph Marinas scored 12 points and Senior Isaiah Menendez and Sophomore Romel Camilo each chipped in 11!Becton was led by Senior Nicola Mitarotonda with 28 points and 13 rebounds and Senior Alessandro Benameur with 11 points!
GARFIELD 58 DUMONT 48
Junior Zack Cook(pictured) scored 16 points with 4 steals, senior Maxwell Drakeford added 12 points and Senior Nakie Graham finished with 11 points and 8 rebounds as Garfield defeated Dumont 58-48! Dumont struggled from the field throughout as they only had four players score! Junior Dominick Barlow led Dumont with 20 points and 9 rebounds, Junior Ousmane Thiem added 14 points on 4″triples” and Senior Andrew Moldez scored 12 points! Garfield led the entire way and had their biggest lead at 47-35 to end the 3rd quarter!
