BERGEN COUNTY JAMBOREE: RAMSEY, TEANECK, PASCACK HILLS AND RAMAPO WIN!
Allendale, N.J…. The Bergen County Jamboree played at Northern Highlands H.S. were entertaining and at times suspenseful, but in the end Ramsey, Teaneck, Pascack Hills and Ramapo will move on!
RAMSEY 44 ST. MARY’S 36
Senior Joey Carroll led Ramsey with 21 points and did most of his damage from the foul line as well as knocking down two straight huge “triples” as Ramsey defeated St.Mary’s 44-36! Carroll(pictured with grandfather,Charlie) finished with 21 points and 6 rebounds and went 11-16 from the free throw line! St. Mary’s lost a couple key players during the contest as Senior Naseer Walker left early in the 1st with back spasms and Sophomore Marc Dadika was lost in the 4th with a shoulder injury! St.Mary’s led going into the 4th quarter 34-31, but a follow by Senior Sean Kopczynski and a bucket by Carroll put Ramsey ahead for good 36-35! Kopczynski added 10 points and Senior Michael Cirilli chipped in 9 points! St.Mary’s was led by Senior Tim Klarmann with 18 points!
TEANECK 65 RIVER DELL 50
For three quarters, River Dell made it tough on Teaneck as they went into the 4th up 35-34! PASCACK HILLS 47 OLD TAPPAN 46
Senior Evan Schumer hit a 30 foot “triple” at the buzzer to lift Pascack Hills to a 47-46 win over Old Tappan! Pasacack Hills led most of the game but Old Tappan had a never say die attitude and seemed to have pulled off the mini comeback as Junior Justin Minaya hit two free throws , then hit what looked like the game winner on a short runner! That’s when Schumer stole the spotlight as he took a pass from Junior Kevin Michael and knocked down the 30 footer! Schumer(right) finished with 21 points to lead the way for Hills! Minaya led Old Tappan with 16 points and Junior Kevin Eifert added 13!
RAMAPO 44 DWIGHT-ENGLEWOOD 32
The final score was not indicative of how hard Dwight-Englewood competed with the Jamboree’s #1 seed! Ramapo grinded their way to a 44-32 win as Senior Ryan Curtiss led the scoring with 17 and Senior Matt Latka made big shots late on his way to 15 points! Dwight-Englewood cut the lead to 3 in the fourth, but a late Ramapo run closed the deal! Freshman Jordan McKoy led Dwight-Englewood with 11 points!
