BERGEN COUNTY JAMBOREE RESULTS: DWIGHT-ENGLEWOOD, BERGEN CATHOLIC, TEANECK AND RAMAPO WIN!

006Tenafly, N.J…..Gardenstatehoops visited Tenafly to watch four Bergen County Jamboree Sweet 16 games and saw Dwight-Englewood, Bergen Catholic, Teaneck and Ramapo reach the Quarterfinals!

                                                                              DWIGHT-ENGLEWOOD  47     DEMAREST  44

Junior Jordan McKoy three point play sent Dwight-Englewood into overtime and his clutch play in the extra session help lift them to an exciting 47-44 win over Demarest! Dwight-Englewood started the game as slow as a team can as they did not score a point in the first quarter and trailed 10-0! McKoy(pictured) then scored 10 in the 2nd quarter and Dwight-Englewood cut the lead to 20-19 at the half! D-E tied the score numerous times and finally took the lead in 41-39 on a layup from Junior Lucas Warhaftig to start the O.T.! Demarest came back and took the lead 44-43 on a “triple” from Senior Zach Stimmel, but a bucket from McKoy, a turnover by Demarest and 2 free throws from Junior Judah McIntyre iced the contest! McKoy finished the game with 27 points, while Demarest was led by Senior Jake Runyon with 21 points and 10 rebounds and 11 points from Senior Austin Albericci!

 

                                                                                   007BERGEN CATHOLIC   64       RIVER DELL  39

Bergen Catholic bigs Sophomore Matt Zona and Junior Zach Freemantle combined for 35 points and 16 rebounds and Junior Doug Edert(pictured) added 17 points as Bergen Catholic rolled past River Dell 64-39! Bergen took a 19-8 1st quarter lead and never looked back as their size was a major factor! BC outrebounded River Dell 26-13! Zona finished with 20 points and 7 rebounds and Freemantle added 15 points and 9 rebounds! Senior Jack Capasso led River Dell with  13 points! Bergen will meet Dwight-Englewood next week in the quarterfinals! 

 

 

                                                                                        009TEANECK   60       ST. MARY’S  49

Teaneck played without three of their top players and still managed to get past St.Mary’s 60-49! With Senior’s Ja’Quaye James, Nadame Tucker and Aaron Sanchez not playing Teaneck had to look for offense from it’s role players and got it from Senior Jayden Dawson, Senior Sage Robinson 008and Junior V.J. Johnson to overcome St. Mary’s and it’s FDU commit Marc Dadika! Dawson scored 17 points with 12 coming in the 1st half, while Robinson did a good job matching Dadika, chipping in 16 points and pulling down 12 rebounds! Johnson contributed 13 points! Dadika finished with 20 points and 11 rebounds and Junior Nick Boyd added 15 points for St. Mary’s!

 

 

                                                                                        RAMAPO  36    RAMSEY  29010

Senior Jason Oppler scored 17 points and Junior K.C. Hunt added 10 points and 7 rebounds to lead Ramapo to a 36-29 win over Ramsey! Oppler scored 12 of his points in the 2nd half and help Ramapo hold on to a slight lead! Ramsey had one chance late as down 27-23 Senior John Carroll hit a “triple” plus a foul shot to tie the game at 27! Ramapo then outscored them 9-2 to finish out the contest! Ramsey was led by Senior Jack Schlamp and Senior Sean Finnegan with 8 points a piece! Ramapo will meet Teaneck in the Quarterfinals!
