BERGEN COUNTY JAMBOREE: RIVER DELL, WESTWOOD AND ST.MARY’S ADVANCE!

Bergen Catholic H.S… Gardenstatehoops went to Bergen Catholic to watch three Bergen County Jamboree games and saw River Dell, Westwood and St.Mary’s advance!

Senior David Estevez scored 21 points to lead River Dell to a 51-38 win over Bogota! Estevez(right)  who played the game ill showed grit as he scored 16 of his points in the first half! His play inspired as River Dell took a 34-17 lead at the stanza! Senior Alex Rivera added 15 points for River Dell and Senior Guard Sal Albaneses grabbed 12 rebounds with 5 steals! Bogota star guard Deiker Padrino was held to 10 hard fought points as he was face guarded the entire contest! Bogota Junior big man Ben Lubuka had a yeoman like game as he scored 13 points and grabbed 16 rebounds and Junior Argenis Soriano added 10 points for Bogota! River Dell will meet #1 seed Bergen Catholic in the Sweet 16 next week!

In a hard fought game, Westwood outlasted Rutherford 44-41! Senior Joe Kramer(right) scored 17 points and pulled down 12 rebounds and Senior Colin Liddy hit 4 “triples” and scored 12 points to lead Westwood! Rutherford led by a slim margin for much of the game, but Westwood made clutch plays late in the 4th! Westwood struggled at the foul line shooting 8 for 17 from the stripe! Junior Lawson Fisher led Rutherford with 15 points and 9 rebounds! Westwood will face #6 seed Cresskill in the Sweet 16 next week!

 

 

 

                                                                    (13)  ST. MARY’S  62       ( 20)  NEW MILFORD  51

F.D.U. commit Marc Dadika(far right)  scored 25 points and pulled down 9 rebounds and Junior Nick Boyd(near) added 20 points and 7 rebounds to lead St.Mary’s to a 62- 51 win over a game New Milford squad! New Milford fought hard the entire contest, actually leading at the half 28-27! St. Mary’s outscored New Milford 15-8 in the 4th quarter to pull out the contest! Senior Matt McElroy scored 14 points and  Senior Ryan Picinic added 13 points for New Milford! Senior Colin Hyland scored 9 points with 3 steals and 3 blocks as he played a key role for St.Mary’s on the defensive end! St. Mary’s will now face #4 Teaneck in the Sweet 16 next week!
