004FDU  Teaneck,N.J… Ramsey went on a 9-0 run to start the Bergen County Jamboree quarterfinal game and was playing well enough to put a scare into #3 seed Teaneck! But the Highwaymen took a half to regroup and got an extra boost with the return of Senior Nick Whitaker to get a 51-40 win!

Whitaker had been out for three weeks with a hand injury, but his presence on the defensive end catapulted Teaneck! Whitaker(pictured) came into the game and used his shot blocking ability and intimidation inside to change the complexion of the contest! Junior Jawaun Daniels led the offensive side with 24 points and 10 rebounds! Teaneck’s first lead came with 1:53 left in the 3rd quarter 31-30 on two free throws by Junior Adrian Baucom! Ramsey was not done though, as Senior Joey Carroll banked in a “triple” with 4:40 left in the 4th to tie the game at 35, but Whitaker’s layup off a dish from Sophomore point guard Ja’Quaye James to give them a 37-35 lead which they would never relinquish! Baucom finished with 10 points, including 8 for 8 from the free throw line, while James had 7 assists! Ramsey was led by Senior Jack Gaffney with 15 points!
