COACHES VS CANCER EVENT: TEANECK, BERGEN CATHOLIC, TENAFLY, HAWTHORNE CHRISTIAN,ENGLEWOOD, WAYNE HILLS AND BOGOTA WIN!

Kennedy HS,Paterson,NJ….. In the second day of the Coaches vs. Cancer event sponsored by Kennedy Coach Jim Ring, seven games were played and Teaneck, Bergen Catholic, Tenafly, Hawthorne Christian, Wayne Hills, Englewood, and Bogota got wins!

 

 

 

                                                                              TEANECK  83       SETON HALL PREP  71

Junior Ceasar DeJesus scored 27 points and 8 rebounds, Freshman Leondre Washington(picture) scored 20 points, Senior Myles McLeod added 15 points and Senior Lavrone Green-Reels added 13 as Teaneck used a balanced attack to beat  Seton Hall Prep 83-71 in the main game of the night! Prep led 20-18 to end the 1st, but Teaneck took the lead at the half 41-34 and never relinguished it! Seton Hall Prep was led by Sophomore Temple Gibbs with 18 points and Junior Kelly Hogan with 14!

 

 

 

                                                                                         BERGEN CATHOLIC  69   PASSAIC COUNTY TECH  63

Passaic County Tech played tough and hard the entire contest, but Bergen Catholic’s size eventually wore them down as 6’7 Nadi Beciri scored 25 points and grabbed 16 rebounds, 6’8 Pierfrancesco Oliva(right) scored 16 points with 8 rebounds to lead Bergen Catholic to a 69-63 win! Tech was led by Senior Nesto Regalado’s 23 points and Senior Vic Mitchell with 16!

 

 

 

 

                                                                                             HAWTHORNE CHRISTIAN  42           RIDGEFIELD PARK  37

6’9 Senior Alex Thomas scored 20 points and pulled down 9 rebounds to lead Hawthorne Christian to a 42-37 win over Ridgefield Park! Thomas showed an array of smooth moves around the basket! Ridgefield Park was led by their 6’6 stud Dondre Rhoden with 12 points and 7 rebounds!

 

 

 

 

 

                                                                                                ENGLEWOOD  76      NORTH BERGEN  62

   Senior Julius Wingate(right) played an all around tough game scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 6 steals and Senior Sidney Dawkins scored 18 points with 10 rebounds to help Englewood overcome a 1st half deficit to beat North Bergen 76-62! North Bergen Senior Anthony Rodriguez led North Bergen with 23 points on 6″triples”!

 

 

 

 

                                                                                            WAYNE HILLS  75    WOODRIDGE  65

Senior Scott Wills(right) scored 27 points and Junior David Torres scored 17 points in Wayne Hills 75-65 win over WoodRidge! Hills led most of the game and held off WoodRidge rallys! Senior Damion Colon led WoodRidge with 18 points and Senior Mike Pichardo added 16 points!

 

 

 

 

                                                                                 TENAFLY  81     WALDWICK  68  OT

Tenafly’s Jake Spadaccini tied the score at 59 with 12 seconds left to put the game into overtime and Tenafly outscored Waldwick 22-9 in overtime to pull out a 81-68 overtime win! Junior Amit Yona(right) led Tenafly with 22 points as did Spadaccini! Senior Doug Palmadessa  led Waldwick with 29 points while Senior Connor Walsh scored 26 points!

Junior Daniel Connor(right) scored 20 points to lead Bogota to a 56-32 win over Eastern Christian! Sophomore Jason Englishmen led Eastern Christian with 10 points!
