COACHES VS CANCER HOLIDAY TOURNAMENT: RAMAPO TO PLAY PASSAIC COUNTY TECH IN FINALS!

Ramapo H.S., Franklin Lakes,N.J… Gardenstatehoops caught three of the four games at Ramapo H.S. in the Coaches vs Cancer Holiday Tournament and saw Ramapo and Passaic County Tech get wins to move into the Championship to be played Wednesday! The other contest saw Passaic defeat North Bergen!

 

 

                                                                        PASSAIC COUNTY TECH  67        WAYNE HILLS  44

 

Passaic County Tech took a 17-11 1st quarter lead and gradually built on it throughout as they cruised past Wayne Hills 67-44! Senior Eric Alford-Johnson(right) scored 22 points, pulled down 11 rebounds and blocked 3 shots, while Senior Xavier Hilbert(left) scored 17 points and Junior Christian Przybyla added 16 points to lead Tech! Senior Dorian Hodge led Wayne Hills with 15 points! Senior Joey Kenny added 10 for Hills! Senior Yohanly Ortiz played a great floor game as he dished out 9 assists and had 4 steals!

Senior Matt Latka(right) and Senior Ryan Curtiss(left) each scored 16 points to lead Ramapo to a 62-42 win over DePaul! Ramapo put end to end pressure on DePaul and worked their way to a 41-24 halftime lead! DePaul made a run in the third to cut it to 10 but back door layups  and two straight 10 second violation calls resulted in Ramapo regaining control of the contest! DePaul was led by Junior Isaiah Robinson with 13 points and Freshman Eddie Davis with 11 points! Latka also grabbed 10 rebounds in the contest and Senior Joe O’Hagan scored 7 points, dished off 7 dimes and pulled down 7 boards for Ramapo!

Junior Jamir Thomas scored 24 points,pulled down 10 rebounds and blocked 5 shots before fouling out and Passaic held on to take a 84-74 win over North Bergen! Senior Tyshawn Bunting added 17 points, Senior Jeremy Green finished with 16 points and Junior Quasim Wilson chipped in 11 points and grabbed an impressive 16 rebounds to help hold it down after Thomas fouled out with over 4 minutes left in the contest! Sophomore Kayton Darley caught fire in the second half for North Bergen as he scored 21 of his 24 points in the stanza! Senior Gino Delcollo added 15 points for North Bergen! Passaic will play Paterson Charter Wednesday who defeated Scotch Plains earlier in the day!
