COACHES VS CANCER HOLIDAY TOURNAMENT: RAMAPO WINS “CHIP”!

009Ramapo H.S. Ramapo, N.J….. The Coaches vs Cancer Holiday Tournament came to it’s conclusion as Ramapo showed why they are a team to be reckoned with as they had a convincing win in the Championship game!

 

 

                                                                              RAMAPO  70      PASSAIC COUNTY TECH  41

 

Passaic County Tech lead 16-12 at the end of the 1st quarter! After that, Ramapo took off! Senior Ryan Curtiss basket gave Ramapo a 20-19 lead in the 2nd quarter and they never looked back as they took a 31-21 halftime lead, then outscored PCT 39-20 in the second half to win 70-41! Senior Matt Latka who was voted the Tournament MVP led Ramapo with 18 points and 8 rebounds as they had 9 players score in the contest! Senior Chris Gordon scored 11 points, including 3 “triples” and Senior Joe O’Hagan and Senior Ryan Curtiss each scored 10! Passaic County Tech was led by Eric Alford-Johnson with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocked shots! Ramapo comes out of this tournament as a legitimate contender for the Bergen County Jamboree title!

 

 

                                                                             THIRD PLACE GAME–  WAYNE HILLS  56    DEPAUL  45

Senior Dorian Hodge(right) scored 22 points to lead Wayne Hills to a 56-45 win over DePaul! Sophomore Jason Modak chipped in 12007 points and Senior 008Joey Kenny added 9 points and 10 rebounds as they held DePaul scoreless for the first 4 minutes of the 4th quarter to take control of the game after leading 37-34 at the end of third! DePaul was led by Freshman Eddie Davis(left) with 15 points and 8 steals! The quick little guard is getting it done on both ends of the floor so far in his short highschool career! senior Jordan Thomas added 12 points and Sophomore Michael Koch chipped in 10!

 

 

 

                                                           FIFTH PLACE GAME–  PASSAIC  52   PATERSON CHARTER  41

 

With top scorer Jamir Thomas saddled in foul trouble Junior guard Jabar DelosSantos(left) took advantage of his opportunites as he 006scored 18 points to lead Passaic to a 52-41  win over Paterson Charter! Paterson Charter gave a maximum effort in their performance, but they could not make a big enough shot to give them an opportunity late! Junior Quasim Wilson scored 12 points and pulled down 13 rebounds for Passaic! Thpmas finished with 9 points! Junior Dazmir Staton led Charter with 10 points and Junior Jahki Clarke added 9 points!
