COACHES VS CANCER HOLIDAY TOURNAMENT: WAYNE HILLS WINS “CHIP”!

Ramapo H.S. Ramapo,N.J….. The Coaches vs Cancer Holiday Tournament came to it’s conclusion and one thing has been established!

Wayne Hills will be a factor the entire Season as their 64-47 win over Ramapo in the title game proved! The Patriots hit on all cylinders in the 2nd half after leading at intermission 24-22! Wayne Hills outscored Ramapo 24-10 in the 3rd quarter to go ahead 48-32 and take control of the contest! Junior Jason Modak(right) was a bull on the boards, grabbing 14 rebounds with 6 on the offensive end! He scored 8 points, with 3 assists and 2 blocks! Junior Justin Wills led the scoring with 13 points and Senior Matt fiore and Tournament MVP Joey Belli(far right)) each finished with 12 points! Senior Justin Hodge added 9 points and Junior Pat Gilmore finished with 8 points and 10 rebounds as Wayne Hills had a number of player contribute to the victory! Ramapo was led by Junior Jason Oppler and Sophomore KC Hunt with 9 points apiece!

DePaul will also be a major problem for top teams as the year goes on as the play of fast rising Freshman Zion Bethea and Freshman Elijah Everett-Hutchins are putting DePaul on the map quickly! DePaul showed what they can become in their 75-65 win over Passaic County Tech! Bethea(far right) scored 20 points and pulled down 7 rebounds and Everett-Hutchins(nearest) added 19 points while grabbing 10 boards and blocking 3 shots! DePaul was solid throughout, taking a 49-34 lead at the end of the 3rd and maintaining it the rest of the game! Tech made a run late behind Senior Julian Briggs(20pts), Senior D.J. Cuavers(16pts,5stls) and Senior Justin Wells(12pts) but it was too little, too late! Senior Isaiah Robinson added 10 points and 7 rebounds for DePaul and Junior Eddie Davis and Sophomore Skylar Wicks each chipped in 8 points!
