COACHES VS CANCER: PASCACK VALLEY, DEPAUL AND RAMAPO WIN!

Little Falls, N.J…… The Coaches vs Cancer tournament ran by Coach Jim Ring took place at Passaic Valley H.S. and had it’s final three games! Pascack Valley, DePaul Catholic and Ramapo all came away winners!

Senior Matt Vasel (pictured)scored 22 points, including 5 “triples” to lead Pascack Valley to a convincing 64-31 win over Passaic Valley! Kevin Smith added 14 points off the bench and Sophomore Alex Lin chipped in 11 points! Senior Legend Dominguez dished out 7 assists  to go with his 8 points! Passaic Valley was led by Senior Tito Ramirez with 19 points!

Freshman Zion Bethea scored 23 points, Freshman Elijah Everett-Hutchins added 12 points and 12 rebounds and Senior Malcolm McLeod(pictured) chipped in 13 points to lead DePaul to a solid 71-66 win over Wayne Hills! In a team effort Sophomore Eddie Davis scored 9 points and dished out 5 assists and Sophomore Bryan Henderson led the defensive pressure as DePaul went Box and 1 against Hills to contain Junior Joey Belli! Belli was held in check until the last quarter! Junior Pat Gilmore’s bucket with 7:10 in the 4th put Hills up 53-52 but DePaul took it back on a bucket from Bethea! Belli led Wayne Hills with 16 points, while Junior Jason Modak added 15 points! Gilmore and Junior Justin Wills scored 12 points apiece!

Junior Jason Oppler(left) scored 20 points and Sophomore KC Hunt(right) scored 19 to lead Ramapo to a 58-52 victory over Wayne Valley! The game was close throughout, but whenever Valley would close the gap, Ramapo would answer behind their stars! Wayne Valley was led by Junior TJ Tedesco with 15 points and Sophomore Mark Howell with 11!
