COACHES VS CANCER RESULTS: BERGEN CATHOLIC, RAMAPO AND PATERSON CHARTER WIN!

Passaic Valley H.S.  Little Falls,N.J……. The Coaches vs Cancer event ran by Coach Jim Ring had three games played today and saw Bergen Catholic, Ramapo and Paterson Charter come away with wins!

                                                                            BERGEN CATHOLIC   77        WAYNE HILLS   60

Junior Zach Freemantle scored 30 points, Junior Doug Edert added 15 points and 5 assists and Sophomore Matt Zona chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds as Bergen Catholic defeated Wayne Hills 77-60! Bergen went ahead, leading 55-39 to end the 3rd quarter! Freemantle(right) scored 22 of his 30 points in the second half! Wayne hills made a comeback attempt in the 4th behind the play of Senior Joey Belli and Senior Justin Wills, but it was too little too late! Belli finished with 25 points and Wills finished with 14 points!

Senior Jason Oppler(left) scored 25 points and Junior K.C. Hunt 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead Ramapo to a 75-65 win over DePaul! Ramapo trailed the entire game and cut the lead to 53-51 at the end of the 3rd quarter! Hunt tied the game at 53 on two free throws and the game went back and forth until Senior John Whooley gave them a 63-62 lead and then went on a  12-3 run to finish out the game! DePaul played well for most of the game but could not maintain it late in the game! Junior Bryan Henderson led DePaul with 19 points, 17 in the 1st half, Senior Jason Galdo finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds and 12 points apiece from Sophomore’s Anthony Corbo and John O’Reilly!

 

                                                                                PATERSON CHARTER  50    PASSAIC VALLEY  28

Paterson Charter exploded in the 4th quarter to turn a 26 all tie into a 50-28 win over PV! Charter outscored Passaic Valley 24-2 in the last stanza as PV did not score until two free throws with 6 seconds left in the game! Junior Bashir Byrd led Charter with 14 points! Junior Rajah Cameron(far right) added 13 points and 5 steals and Junior Joe Collazo(near) added 12 points and 9 rebounds! Senior Dylan Mulrooney led Passaic Valley with 12 points as they scored 7 points the entire second half!
