NORTH 1 GROUP 4 STATES:EASTSIDE ROLLS PAST KENNEDY 71-39!

Eastside H.S. Paterson,N.J….. Senior Asem Johnson and Senior Aaryn Abrams combined for 30 points as Eastside blew past Kennedy into the North 1 Group 4 championship with a 71-39 win! Eastside came out fast and took a 16-4 lead at the end of the 1st quarter! They then held Kennedy to 7 more points at the half to take a 32-11 halftime lead and coast the rest of the way! Johnson(right) finished the game with 18 points and Abrams added 12 points! Senior Shakur Juiston had a solid game scoring 8 points, pulling down 10 rebounds, dropping 4 dimes and blocking 2 shots! Eastside had 10 players score in the game, while Abrams and Sophomore Nhazir Smith each dished out 6 assists! Kennedy was led by Aalim Jones with 14 points and Senior Jevon Rawls with 9 points! Eastside will face East Orange Monday for the Group 4 Sectional!

 

 

Notes:  Gardenstatehoops would like to acknowledge the Highschool careers of Kennedy Senior’s Aalim Jones(left) and Jevon Rawls(right)! Both players have been known by this sight since they were young and with both it goes farther than just basketball! Each has a chance to continue their careers on the next level and here’s hoping that they can find a place to succeed!
