Newark Westside 58 Paterson Kennedy 56
In the best game of the day, Newark Westside outworked Paterson Kennedy at the end to pull off a 58-56 win over Paterson Kennedy! Senior Troy Rodell led Westside with 18 points, while Senior Dashawn Latham added 17 as each scored clutch buckets late! Latham had 4 steals in the contest! Kennedy got a big game from Senior Avante’ Gilbert who scored 15 points and pulled down 16 rebounds and Senior Jahmir Tyrell who added 15 points with 6 rebounds and 2 steals! Rodell and Gilbert were MVP’s for their respective teams!(with Coordinator Keila Brevard)
Montclair Immaculate 91 Donald Payne 53
Junior Elijah Everett scored 21 points and grabbed 9 rebounds and Junior Zion Bethea added 19 points to lead Montclair Immaculate to a 91-53 win over Donald Payne! Montclair had 9 players score in the contest! Senior Kiyon Chapman led Donald Payne with 14 points and 18 rebounds! Everett and Chapman were MVP’s for their respective teams!
Newark Eastside 82 Paterson Eastside 42
Junior Gabe Olaniyi scored 14 of his 18 points in the 1st half as Newark Eastside jumped on Paterson Eastside early and never looked back! They took a 24-9 1st quarter lead and extended it throughout! Junior Nasir Johnson added 14 points, while Senior Nas Amos chipped in with 8 points, 5 assists and 5 steals to lead Newark! Senior Anthony Dunbar led Eastside with 13 points and 8 rebounds! Olaniyi and Dunbar were MVP’s for their respective teams!
Newark Central 61 Paterson Charter 59
Junior Akil Domino scored 20 points to lead Newark Central past Paterson Charter 61-59! They led by as much as 12, 37-25 to end the first half! Paterson Charetr made a valiant comeback, but came up short late! Senior Bashir Byrd led Charter with 23 points and Senior Rajah Cameron added 16! Domino and Byrd were chosen MVP’s for their respective squads!
