GARDENSTATE SHOWCASE: PART THREE
Kennedy HS, Paterson,N.J….. Another evauation of more players that participated in the Garden State Showcase!
JOEY CARROLL—RAMSEY: Carroll was the best shooter in the gym. He established that right away by draining long three pointers to initiate the game. He has a nice feel and was a tough finisher down low! Although a left hander, he showed the ability to go both ways with the basketball comfortably. Carroll can be a major contributor on the College level, particularly offensively and proved that he’s not afraid to get physical!
DORIAN HODGE—WAYNE HILLS: Dorian Hodge is a smooth player with a great cerebral mindset not letting anything shake him. He has a nice perimeter shot and no problem getting to the cup with either hand. Has good vision as his passing can attest to. He has a nice upside and competes on both ends of the floor. Has a knack of elevating his game to the level of competition. Will be a major player heading into his Senior year and Colleges will take notice.
AMIR HICKS—ST.MARY’S: Amir Hicks showed great point guard attributes. He found people at the right time and his decision making was superb. Also knocked down the perimeter shot consistently. Can’t help but love the way he got up in it from end line to end line as he was a disruptive defender. His focus on the court was a credit to the fact that he played to win games. Colleges will love his go hard attitude, not to mention his skill.
JAYLON HAYNES–COLUMBIA H.S.: Out of all the players, Jaylon was the most impressive physically on the floor. He never gives up on a play and scored on numerous put backs. When Jaylon wanted the ball, he got the ball. His skill level was also good as he was automatic from mid range! He defended hard and was a very good finisher. He has the kind of game that any team would want and actually every team needs
TYMIER MCMILLAN–KENNEDY: Tymier’s enthusiasm showed bright and he displayed his talent with a lot of flair. Tymier brings it on both ends of the floor and impressed with his game. He was disruptive defensively and scored on an assortment of layups! Was good from the outside and showed true leadership skills. His personality stood out in every game he played in and with his quality play it could not be overlooked!
KHARI THOMPSON–IRVINGTON H.S.— Khari played well on a good team and did what it took to establish himself on the floor. He rebounded well and made his shots from all over. He defended well and gave a great effort on both sides of the ball. He was unselfish and did what ever was needed games to help his squad win.
ALIJAH-DAE KENNER–PASSAIC COUNTY TECH: Alijah is a multi talented player who does whatever is needed to help his team win! He has a nose for the ball and finishes around the rim well. Kenner’s forte is on the defensive end as he usually defends the toughest offensive player on the other team. His determination on both ends was hard to miss
