Despite a lost to the #1 team in the State, the Gardenstatehoops/ MyPlay State team of the week is Bergen Catholic!

 The Crusaders went 2-1 with an 88-77 win over Hackensack in which Freshman Will Richardson scored 22 point, Junior Matt Zona(pictured) scored 21 points and Junior Raejon Figures added 18! They then defeated St. Joseph(Montvale) 63-48! Xavier commit Zach Freemantle led with 16 points and St. Peters commit Doug Edert added 14 points! In their lost to Ranney, Bergen played in a hostile environment and had two shots to win it at the end before falling 56-55! Zona led with 16 points, Freemantle had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds and Edert chipped in 10!

 

 

 

The area team of the week is Newark Eastside who went 3-0 for the week with wins over Montclair Immaculate, Seton Hall Prep and Bloomfield! Senior Nas Amos(pictured) led with 22 points and Nasir Johnson added 16 points in their 68-64 win over Montclair Immaculate! In their 58-46 win over Seton Hall Prep, Amos scored 19 points and Junior Mikah Johnson added 16 points! They defeated Bloomfield 75-40 as Johnson scored 16 points, Amos added 14  and Sophomore Gabriel Olaniyi chipped in 12 points!
