GILL ST.BERNARD JINGLE BELLS JUBILEE CHAMPS!

007Eastside H.S.  Paterson, N.J….. The Jingle Bells Jubilee was moved to Eastside Highschool from Paterson Charter due to a leak,but the venue did not change the fact that two high level Highschool teams in St.Joe’s-Metuchen and Gill St.Bernard were competing in the finals! In an entertaining contest Gill St.Bernard came away as Jingle Bells Jubilee champs!

Freshman  Paul Mulcahy(left) who was the game MVP scored 16 points and grabbed 6 reboundsand fellow Freshman Jake Betlow added 10 to lead Gill008 St.Bernard past St.Joe’s-Metuchen 54-46! The two freshman played way beyond their years as they were never overwhelmed in the contest! Sophomore Alex Schachne added 9 points, including 4 free throws late to help preserve the win! Senior Alex Mitola(with Mulcahy) who got the sportsmanship trophy and had a solid Tournament chipped in 8 points,pulled down 7 rebounds and played an all around strong game! St.Joe’s was led by Syracuse commit Tyus Battle with 15 points and Mississippi commit Breein Tyree with 10! Gill went on a 13-0 run in the 2nd quarter that gave them a lead they would never relinguish!

Senior Charles Powell scored 18 points and Junior Nhaz Smith added 16 points to lead Paterson Eastside to a 64-54 win over Immaculate Conception and take third place in the Jingle Bells Jubilee Tournament! Eastside trailed 11-9 at the end of the 1st quarter but took the lead early in the 2nd quarter and led from then on out! Sophomore Jalen Carey led IC with 17 points and Freshman Dejourn Cook added 13 points and 11 rebounds!

 

 

 

 

                                                   FIFTH PLACE GAME  ST.JOE’S-MONTVALE  68    HACKENSACK  41

  Senior Nate Garvey scored 18 points and Junior Chauncey Hawkins and Senior Bryan Griffin each scored 10 points to lead St.Joe’s-Montvale to a convincing 68-41 win over Hackensack! St.Joe’s took a 31-19 halftime lead and outscored Hackensack 38-22 the rest of the way! Senior M.J. Richardson led Hackensack with 17 points!
