GROUP 1 STATE FINALS: VERONA DEFEATS WOODBURY 69-54!

Rutgers University, N.J….Senior Travis Jocelyn scored 30 points and pulled down 9 rebounds to lead Verona to a convincing 69-54 win over Woodbury and capture their first Group 1 State title since 1959!

Verona led most of the game and at one point took a 38-21 lead! Woodbury had moments and cut the lead to 44-40 in the 4th quarter, but Verona soon expanded the lead to 51-40 behind buckets from Jocelyn and Junior Joe Zecchino! Zecchino finished with 11 points and Senior Zach Zaccone added 12 points for Verona! Woodbury was led by Senior Ja’Zere Noel with 27 points! Sophomore Aaron Estrada added 13 points for Woodbury!
