GROUP 3 STATE “CHIP”! TEANECK WINS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP 59-50!

Rutgers University, N.J….. Sophomore Ja’Quaye James went over the 1,000 point mark, finished with 23 points and led Teaneck to a 59-50 and the school’s first Group 3 State Championship over Winslow!

Teaneck battled with the bigger Winslow squad tooth and nail on the backboards as they had all five players crash the boards! James was the catalyst,but he got help from Junior Juwaun Daniels who scored 16 points and had 4 steals, Junior Adrian Baucom who scored 10 points and pulled down 8 rebounds from the guard position, Senior Nick Whitaker, who blocked 6 shots and GeAni Bannerman who also grabbed 6 rebounds from the wing position with 3 steals! Winslow was led by Senior Emmanual Lowe with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Senior Michael Cubbage with 13 points! Teaneck took a 38-30 3rd quarter lead and maintained that slight lead throughout! James got his 1,000th point on a free throw in the 2nd quarter!
