HOOPGROUP SHOWCASE: BERGEN CATHOLIC, RANNEY SCHOOL, HUDSON CATHOLIC AND MONTEVERDE

Dunn Athletic Center Elizabeth,N.J…. The Sunday HoopGroup event took place today with four good contests! It saw Bergen Catholic, The Ranney School, Hudson Catholic and Montverde Prep CBD Academy come away with wins!

Xavier commit Zach Freemantle(pictured) scored 21 points and pulled down 13 rebounds and Junior Matt Zona added 19 points with 11 boards as Bergen Catholic held off a late comeback and hold on to a 77-75 win over St.Mary’s! Bergen led 65-50 going into the final stanza, but St.Mary’s came roaring back! With Freemantle fouled out, St.Mary’s came within a “triple” at the buzzer of coming all the way back! St. Mary’s was led by Senior Izaiah Delbourne-Robinson with 22 points and Senior Jay Solano with 20! Junior Raejon Figures added 8 assists in the contest for Bergen Catholic!

 

 

                                                                 RANNEY SCHOOL 63      DON BOSCO PREP  51

Don Bosco Prep was engaged in their quest to upset the State’s top team in The Ranney School! Prep held a three point lead with 4 minutes to go, But Ranney went on a late run to pull ahead and went on to a 63-51 victory! Villanova commit Bryan Antoine(right) scored 33 points with 7 steals and Florida commit Scottie Lewis added 16 points, pulled down 10 rebounds and blocked 4 shots! Prep was led by Army commit Victor Konopka with 15 points and 8 rebounds! Senior Kyle Maurer added 13 points, including 4″triples”!

 

                                                          HUDSON CATHOLIC  91   POPE JOHN  69

Hudson Catholic was on all cylinders as they defeated Pope John 91-69! The Hawks had 4 players in double figures in a balanced attack! Sophomore Justin Glover made 6″triples” and scored 20 points, while Sophomore Shane DeZonie(right) added 19 points with 4 assists and 3 steals! Sophomore Tristan Jeffries added 15 points and Freshman Antonio Sellers finished with 12 points and 6 rebounds! Senior Jonathan Delgado added 8 assists and F.D.U. commit Danny Rodriguez scored 9 points with 8 rebounds! Pope John was led by Senior Eddie Davis with 29 points and 4 steals and Sophomore DiAndre South with 19 points and 6 steals!

Senior Trae Broadnax scored 26 points, Senior James Lee(right) added 22 points and Gonzaga commit Pavel Zakharov finished with 17 to lead Montverde to a 86-74 win over Perkiomen(Pa.)! Perkiomen was led by Senior Christopher Arcidiacono with 25 points and 21 points from Senior Tautvydas Kupstas!
