HOOPGROUP SHOWCASE: ELIZABETH, GILL ST. BERNARD AND MANASQUAN WIN!

Dunn Athletic Center Elizabeth,N.J….The Hoop Group Showcase had three games and saw Elizabeth, Gill St.Bernard and Manasquan come away with wins!009

Senior Jesiah West(pictured) scored 15 of his 17 points in the 2nd half and Elizabeth overcame an 11 point deficit in the 4th quarter and pull off a 68-66 win over Rutgers Prep! Senior Brendan Kelly’s “triple” with 25 seconds left proved to be the game winning basket! Senior Abdul Shanunu finished with 15 points for Elizabeth! Rutgers Prep was led by Senior Kaylen Oweh with 14 points, Sophomore Noah Harris with 13 points, including 4″triples”, Junior Nico Galette with 12 points and Penn commit Jonah Charles with 11 points!

Rutgers commit Paul Mulcahy(pictured) scored 23 points, pulled down 9 rebounds and dished out 7 assists to lead Gill St. Bernard to a 71-49 win over St.Joseph (Montvale)! Junior William Soucie added 18 points, Junior Zach Martini finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds and Freshman Denver Anglin chipped in 13 points for a balanced Gill attack! Junior Nazir Williams and Senior Chris Manon each scored 11 points for St.Joe’s!

 

                                                              MANASQUAN  78     UNION CATHOLIC  74  O.T.

Junior Alex Galvan(pictured) scored 30 points and pulled down 17 rebounds to lead Manasquan to a 78-74 win005 over Union Catholic in overtime! Senior Brad McCabe and Freshman Ben Roy scored 15 points apiece for Manasquan! Roy made two shots at the end of the 1st and 2nd quarter from half court with the last one giving Manasquan a 33-31 lead at the half! Manasquan took a 50-43 lead into the 4th quarter but U.C. came back behind the play of Senior Jaheim Tanksley and Junior Matt Tracey! Tanksley led Union Catholic with 25 points, while Tracey added 23 points and Senior Nashon Battle chipped in 14 points!
