HUDSON COUNTY FINALS: HUDSON CATHOLIC WINS FOURTH STRAIGHT 51-48 OVER MARIST!

St.Peters University, Jersey City,N.J…… Hudson Catholic had it’s hands full against Marist in it’s bid for a fourth straight Hudson County Title! But, in the end they secured the”Chip”! Senior Nassir Barrino(left) scored 15 points and was voted Tournament M.V.P. to lead Hudson Catholic to the title! Senior Sammy Friday(right) contributed 9 points and pulled down 10 rebounds and Freshman guard Jahvon Quinerly who  scored 11 points and also went 3 for4 down the stretch! Hudson Catholic took a 21-16 lead into the half, but early in the 3rd, Marist made a run to tie the score at 29! Hudson Catholic fought back and took a 35-29 lead at the end of the 3rd! Marist was not finished as Logan Santana and Asante Gist put Marist on their backs to cut the lead to 45-44! But Barrino made a clutch steal and layup to make the score 47-44! That’s when Quinerly did his heroics from the line and with them winning 51-48, Hudson Catholic’s Sophomore Tyheem Burno blocked a last second three! Santana led Marist with 16 points and Gist scored 13 points!
