JINGLE BELLS JUBILEE: GILL ST. BERNARD AND ST.PETERS PREP TO PLAY IN “CHIP”!

033Don Bosco Tech Academy, Paterson, N.J….. The Playaz sponsored Jingle Bells Jubilee Holiday Tournament had it’s Semi-Final winners as Gill St.Bernard and St.Peters Prep had impressive victories to advance to the Championship game Thursday!

 

                                                              GILL ST.BERNARD  67        IMMACULATE CONCEPTION  48032

In an impressive showing Gill St. Bernard displayed an offense that kept Immaculate Conception off balanced and their movement of the ball resulted in numerous open looks, which they took advantage of in defeating I.C. 67-48! Junior Alex Schacne(top right)scored 12 points, dished out 6 assists and grabbed 7 rebounds and Senior Mike Morreale scored all 14 of his points in the 1st half to help Gill take a 37-23 halftime lead and never look back! Sophomore Paul Mulcahy again filled the stat sheet as he finished with 14 points, pulled down 8 rebounds, dish out 5 dimes, blocked 2 shots and picked up a steal for Gill! 9 players scored for GSB! Immaculate was led by Junior Jalen Carey with 12 points and Sophomore DeJourn Cook with 11 points!

 

 

                                                                                         ST.PETERS PREP  45       TEANECK  25034

 Junior Shayne Simon scored 13 points and Junior Brendan Thiele added 12 points to lead St. Peters Prep to a 45-25 win over Teaneck! Prep played locked down defense, not allowing a Teaneck bucket the entire 4th quarter! Down 27-17 at the half, Teaneck started the 3rd quarter on an 8-0 run and cut the lead to 27-25! Prep proceeded to score the last 18 points of the game! They succeeded in holding down star guard Ja’Quaye James to 7 points as no Teaneck player scored in double figures! Thiele scored 7 of his points in the 2nd half! Senior Jorge Portorreal scored 8 points and along with Freshman Will White played tough defense throughout the night for Prep!

Hackensack had it going from start to finish as they led throughout in defeating a tough Union Catholic squad 63-53! Junior Razeyah Surrell(far right) started the game with two “triples” and went on to score 15 points for the Comets! Junior Atiba Taylor(right) scored 13 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished out 5 assis030ts, Junior B.J. Saliba scored 11 points, pulled down 8 rebounds with 3 assists and Junior Toren Portee and Senior Bryce Drakeford each chipped in 9 points for Hackensack! Dayton commit Jordan Pierce led Union Catholic with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocked shots! Hackensack took a 40-25 halftime lead and never looked back!

Junior Jaylen Colon(right) scored 11 of his 17 points in the 3rd quarter as Kennedy outscored Queen Of Peace 28-6 in the 3rd en route to a 90-53 win! Ten players scored for the Knights in a balanced attack! Freshman Jah-Mahli Carnegie scored 13 points, Senior Joe Schoulas finished with 12 points and Senior Tamir Williams added 11 points! Senior Rasheen Peppers led Queen Of Peace with 15 points!
