Kennedy Beats Prep in O.T. 76-68

Sophomore Dawon Lighty (14pts.) three point play with 1:00 left and layup with 35 seconds helped Kennedy get into overtime and go on to win 76-68 against Don Bosco Prep. With a minute left, down 3, Lighty drove down the middle for a layup and was fouled on the play. After converting a free throw to tie it 59-59, Kennedy got the ball back and went ahead on a Daquere Hayes backdoor pass to Lighty. Prep got the ball down 61-59 and isolated a play for sophomore sensation Vaughn Gray (22pts.) who tied it on a baseline layup. Kennedy pulled away in overtime and held on behind the clutch free throw shooting of Asmar Edwards (16pts., 6rebs.) Shondell Stewart led the Knights in scoring with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Gray led Prep, while Brandon Beckford added 12 points and 8 rebounds.
