KENNEDY HOLDS OFF EASTSIDE 57-54!

Kennedy H.S. Paterson,N.J… Paterson Kennedy had to hold off a tough Paterson Eastside team and pull off a hard fought 57-54 win!

The game was close throughout as neither team lead by as much as 5 points in the contest! Senior Avante’ Gilbert scored 14 of his 15 points in the second half with 11 rebounds and Senior Joshuel White(pictured) scored 14 points, but more importantly had 8 steals to lead the Knights! With the game close down the stretch, Sophomore Jae’Waun Abrams hit a big”triple” to make the score 47-43 and then added two free throws to push Kennedy ahead 49-43! Senior Demonte Johnson’s”triple” with 10 seconds left cut the score to two 55-53 with 10 seconds left, but White sealed the game with two free throws! Johnson led Eastside with 15 points, while Michael Saldivar-Cruz finished with 11 points!
