MAHWAH DEFEATS BERGEN TECH 51-48!!

Teterboro,N.J….. Bergen Tech has drawn a reputation for playing very hard and then falling short in the win category! Mahwah did just enough to keep that rep going as they beat Bergen Tech 51-48! Senior Tahid Townsend(right) led Mahwah with 14 points and grabbed 7 rebounds to help the Thunderbirds hold on! Bergen Tech was right their the entire contest as Senior Alex Santiago did the work in the 1st half and Sophomore Steve Lai did it in the 2nd half! Lai’s shooting brought Bergen Tech to a 32-31 deficit but Townsend and his teammates, Senior Kevin Tremblin(10pts), Senior Joey Deer(10pts) helped push the lead to 40-31 to again maintain control! But as is their custom Bergen Tech made one last run, but Senior Kyle Remo’s two free throws helped iced the win! Lai finished with 19 points and Santiago added 18 points! The win moved Mahwah’s record to 7-3 while a game Bergen Tech fell to 3-7!
