NEWARK EASTSIDE RALLIES TO BEAT TEANECK 54-47! (contribution by Ron Fitch)

East Orange,NJ…… Teaneck was a quarter away from getting over the hump in their North Jersey Group 3 Semi-final game against Newark Eastside! Teaneck led by as much as 11 in the first half and kept a slim lead for most of the game! But Newark Eastside being a veteran team kept the game close and Seton Hall commit Ismael Sanogo’s putback in the 4th tied the score at 40 and Newark Eastside held on to win 54-47! It was the fourth straight year the Highwaymen reached this game and fell short! Sanogo led Newark Eastside with 16 points and 14 rebounds and Senior Akbar Hoffman scored 15 points with 9 rebounds! Teaneck was led by Freshman Leondre Washington with 15 points, while Junior Ceasar DeJesus added 13 points and Senior Myles McLeod chipped in 8 points and 5 rebounds!
