032Pine Belt Arena,Toms River,NJ……..The Non-Public  A and B Championships take place today at Pine Belt arena in Toms River! 5:00pm pits the Non-Public A with St. Joe’s Metuchen vs St. Peters Prep with the 7:00pm game featuring St. Anthony against Roselle Catholic!

MATCHUP:  St. Joseph Metuchen–St Joe’s is not very deep, but they have maybe the top starting 5 in the State! That’s because they are led by 7′ McDonalds All-American Karl Towns(pictured left) who is probably the most dominating player in the State! He also has Vanderbilt commit Wade Baldwin, Canisius commit Raven Owens and D-1 prospect Marques Townes to run with! That combined with the athleticism and talent of Sophomore Brein Tyree makes St.Joe’s the favorite!

003

St.Peters Prep— What Joe’s lacks in depth Prep has it in abundance! They are led by 6′ High Point commit Austin White(right) and 6’8 Pace commit Vic Jusino! Their most talented player is Sophomore Veer Singh who has high major D-1 offers and Freshman Nate Pierre-Louis has proven to be a strong addition in his first year! Sophomore’s Najaa Hunter and Kaleb Bishop are major contributors, as well as Senior’s Jordan Whitehead and Sean Ryan!

Prediction: St. Joe’s is a slight favorite to win the TOC which means they should get past this matchup!

NON-PUBLIC B030

MATCHUP——St. Anthony doesn’t bring the type team that people are acustomed to but they still play the Friar’s way and they are still the toughhest out in the State! They are led by Senior guard’s Tarin Smith(right) and Boston U commit Cheddi Mosely! Junior Markis McDuffie has come on strong and is looking like the next great Friar! Guard Shaq McFarlane and Sophomore Jagan Mosely are both capable of having big games! Junior Idris Joyner and Junior Mohamed Bendary provide the front court help!

014

Roselle Catholic– Roselle lost to St. Ant’s earlier this season but they were still getting acclimated with each other as Junior Isaiah Briscoe(right) had recently started playing after sitting 30 days after transferring! Sophomore’s guard Asante Gist and Matt Bullock and Junior Chris Silva  along with Briscoe makes Roselle Catholic one of the most talented teams in the State! If they play as a unit will be a hard team for St. Anthony’s to handle!

Prediction: This game is destined to go down to the wire! This time Roselle Catholic finds a way to pull it out!
