NON-PUBLIC NORTH A SEMIS: DON BOSCO PREP GETS IT’S REVENGE OVER ST. JOSEPH 69-58!

Ramsey,N.J….. In Don Bosco Prep’s mind , this was payback! DBP was bent on making up for their heartbreaking County final lost to St. Joseph Regional!

They did it by taking an early lead and holding it throughout the contest as the 69-58 win gives them a place in the Non-Public A North final win! Senior Omar Mostafa(right) led the way with 24 points and Sophomore Marcellus Earlington added 16! Prep took a 18-6 1st quarter lead and withstood St.Joe’s runs to maintain a small lead! Prep had to withstand the outstanding play of Senior Nate Garvey and Junior Chauncey Hawkins! They cut the score to 49-40 but “triples” from Senior Charlie Bagin and Mostafa pushed the lead to 55-40 and that was pretty much the game! Garvey led St.Joseph with 23 points and Hawkins added 19! Prep will now face Seton Hall Prep for the Non-Public A North “Chip”!

 

 

FAREWELL NOTES: Gardenstatehoops would like to acknowledge the outgoing Seniors of St. Joseph Regional! Particularly Bryan Griffin and Nate Garvey! Griffin had an impact season and his improvement was one of the keys to St.Joe’s success this season! He became a threat in the paint and his defense was key late in the Season! Griffin(right) has a shot at continuing his basketball career! He has made himself a commodity! Garvey(far right) has had a tremendous Highschool career and will be continuing his Basketball journey with Howard University! Garvey is a friend to the site and has given his time! Garvey is a true Student-Athlete who has great character and personality! It has been a personal pleasure to get to know him over the last four years! Gardenstatehoops would like to wish the best for Nate,Bryan and their families on their great careers and the best in the future!
