NORTH 1 GROUP 4 SEMIFINAL RESULT: HACKENSACK MOVES ON PAST RIDGEWOOD 72-66!

Ridgewood,N.J…. Three was not the charm for Ridgewood as they could not get that third victory of year against Hackensack and fell 72-66 in the North 1 Group 4 semifinal matchup!

Junior Seth Brown(far right) was again the leader of the comets attack as he scored 24 points and pulled down 10 rebounds! Junior Kevin Mateo added 18 points and was tough on the defensive end as he had 5 steals, including his last one to ice the contest! Senior Jelani Carter(right) was the needed third option as he scored 14 points with 4 “triples”, 5 rebounds and 4 assists! His two free throws with 12.2 on the clock turned a 68-66 lead into a 70-66 one! Junior Amire Walker and Freshman Shawn Reckley each chipped in 8 points for Hackensack! The Comets had to overcome the play of Junior Matt Favieri who scored 16 of his 20 points in the 2nd half and Senior Davis Oscher who added 16 points! Junior James Miller added 10 points and 7 rebounds for the Maroons! Hackensack will travel to Union City to meet the #2 seeded team in the North 1 Group 4 final!
