008Ramapo, N.J……Senior Ryan Curtiss did not have a point in the game, but with 2 seconds on the clock he stepped to the line and converted 1 of 2 to give Ramapo an exciting 57-56 win over Wayne Hills which sends them to the North Group 3 Sectional title game against Teaneck!

Curtiss(right) was fouled on an offensive rebound after a missed shot! Ramapo had seemed in control as it took a 46-31 lead at the end of the 3rd quarter! They took as much as a 16 point lead 51-35 in the 4th! But Wayne H002ills showed plenty of character and fight as it then went on a 21-3 run! Ramapo went up 54-50 on a “triple” from Freshman K.C. Hunt, but Hills tied the score on a layup by Sophomore and a layup from Senior Dorian Hodge off a feed from Sophomore Joey Belli! Senior Matt Latka knocked down two free throws with 1:03 left in the contest to make it 56-54! Hodge then made two free throws of his own with 37.6 left to tie the game at 56! That set the stage for Curtiss heroics as he missed his first free throw, then made the second to give the one point victory! Senior Chris Gordon(bottom right) led Ramapo with 16 points and Latka added 15 points and 10 rebounds! Wayne Hills got 13 points apiece from Hodge and Belli, 12 points from Modak and 11 points, 12 rebounds from Senior Joey Kenny!
